Instructions for Creating a Flash Web Banner using PowerPoint with PowerCONVERTER

1. Change page size to reflect the size of banner. PowerPoint only lets you set up in inches and not pixels, so to figure out the size in inches, you take the number of pixels and divide by 72. For example, a banner that is 728 x 90 pixels would be 10.1 inches by 1.25 inches.

2. Set up 2 slides, though you can have more depending on how many layers of animation you want.

3. For a 2 slide simple text animated banner, put all your text on the first slide.

4. Right click on your text and choose “Custom Animation” and then select what style you want.

5. Make your second slide blank, but with the same background as first.

6. While on the first slide, click on “Slide Show” > “Slide Transition” and under “Advance Slide”, check the “Automatically After” box and select the number of seconds you want. 5 seconds is a good start.

7. While on the second slide, set your slide transition by selecting “Slide Show” > “Slide Transition” and then choose your Transition. Note: Only put your transition on the 2nd slide.

8. Under the “Slide Show” menu, click on “Set up Show” and under “Show Options”, click on “Loop Continuously until ESC”.

9. Save your file

10. Click on PowerCONVERTER and save as a .swf file.

11. Publish to your website
